On Saturday, 6th November, in the Natura Park in Pardubice and on Sunday, 7th November, in the Dačice House in Kutná Hora juries decided about 460,000 crowns, which will support communities in both regions this year. It was possible to submit applications for the projects until Friday, 15th October, and the only criteria that projects had to meet was their contribution to the Pardubice or Kutná Hora region. Foxconn employees themselves decided on the participants of both final rounds. The finalists then presented their projects live to the audience and a professional jury, which ultimately decided twice on the eleven winners. This year, a total of 22 teams and individuals took part in the event.
In Pardubice, for example, Eva Hrdinová, a formerly successful athlete, now no less successful coach and chairwoman of the disabled section Atletika Bez Bariér Pardubice got to the finals and won a check for CZK 26,000 for the project of the same name. The money will help carry out the competition of talented athletes with disabilities. The highest amount won Marie Hubálková and Vojtěch Gottwald from the Regional Charity in Pardubice. Foxconn will support their project Support for Home Hospice Care with CZK 50,000.
In Kutná Hora, the jury was fascinated, for example, by the project Budoucnost dětem, děti budoucnosti (Future to Children, Children of the Future) from the Kindergarten in Miskovice. Its main goal is the development of children in areas that the kindergarten provides beyond educational programs, such as canistherapy, speech therapy or intergenerational ceramics for children and seniors. The kindergarten won support in the amount of CZK 25,000. Another request was presented, for example, by Tomáš Krpálek from the Athletic Association. He will use the obtained amount of CZK 30,000 to buy tablets for competitions of the youth.
"Foxconn X-DAY is the largest project of its kind in both regions," comments Pavel Kožený, PR and Communication Manager at Foxconn in the Czech Republic." The great interest in X-DAY confirms that Foxconn’s efforts to support the communities in both regions in which the company operated make real sense. We are glad that we have seen so many individuals and groups this year who do not hesitate to devote their efforts and time to improve the environment in which they live. Thank you to everyone who took part this year."
This year, for the first time, X-DAY Junior
This year, for the first time, students of secondary schools and universities, which Foxconn supports in both regions, also competed for two grants in the amount of CZK 30,000. In the new category, the students of the team from Gymnázium Dašická and SPŠCH Pardubice won in Pardubice. Together, they attracted the attention with the Aqua-reactor project, a plan to produce a prototype of an innovative technological system. In Kutná Hora, the team of the Kutná Hora Industrial School scored with the Conník project. Its goal is to build robots for use and demonstration in primary schools.
