Sport Park Pardubice brought not only sporting experiences, enhanced this year by the ongoing Olympics, but also support for nine-year-old Yulinka suffering from a rare genetic disease.

This year’s Sports Park Pardubice, which took place from 3rd to 11th August at Park Na Špici, was significantly influenced by favourable weather. The nine-day event attracted thousands of visitors who enjoyed sports activities in the fresh air. Entire families and individuals flocked to the park to enjoy the atmosphere of this unique Pardubice event. A large number of young visitors came to the various sports grounds with playing cards, with the majority of them being children aged between six and thirteen years old and the remainder being children under six years old. It is also interesting to note that more than a third of the sporting children attended the event for the very first time.

Record participation in the Foxconn Run

One of the traditional events of the Sports Park was the charity run “Foxconn Run”, which took place on Wednesday, August 7. This year, a record number of participants took part in the run – a total of 450 at the start! Among them, 140 of our employees ran, joining the public, as well as other supporters from politicians and athletes from the local football, basketball and hockey clubs. A cheque for 50,000 CZK was presented on the spot to Yulina and her mum by Allan Keown, Vice-president and Executive Director of G Group, who then also took part in the charity run. The amount will be used by the family for little Yulinka’s medical treatment and other necessities, while the costs of organising the run, including the entry packages – sports shirts, commemorative medals and refreshments for the runners, were fully covered by Foxconn.

Nine years old Yulinka suffers from a rare genetic disease CDKL5 (an atypical form of Rett syndrome). Despite all her handicaps, Yulinka is a happy, kind and smiling little girl who needs lots of love and care. She loves music and enjoys going to school. At school she needs her own personal assistant who takes care of everything. Yulinka also has many important therapies at school, including rehabilitation, to help her development.

Fun in the Foxconn Zone

The Foxconn Zone has once again become a popular place not only for relaxation, but also for entertainment and sports activities. Visitors had the opportunity to watch live broadcasts of the Olympic Games, children competed for prizes and Foxconn employees enjoyed refreshing popsicles. “The special fruit smoothie round, which enriched our Foxconn zone on Wednesday, August 7, was a big hit, where those interested could ‘whip up’ their own fruit drink,” added Radka Svobodová. There was a great atmosphere in the Foxconn Zone all the time, thanks also to our friendly mascot Chip, who attracted the attention of both small and big visitors.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Sport Park Pardubice, whether as athletes, volunteers or visitors. Your support not only helps us fulfill our mission to be a responsible employer, but also a good neighbor who knows how to bring joy and help to those in need.
