The Foxconn facility in Pardubice, the third-largest exporter in the Czech Republic, opened its doors to journalists in January, offering them a behind-the-scenes look at the production of innovative data storage solutions by the American company Pure Storage. Thanks to significant investments in research and development, Pure Storage has become one of the fastest-growing IT companies in the world, renowned not only for its technological advancement but also for its strong focus on environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.
Pure Storage solutions, used by large commercial and manufacturing enterprises, banks, and government organisations, are designed to help customers reduce energy consumption, save space, and minimise electronic waste. Some Pure Storage data systems consume up to 86% less energy than competing solutions, a key advantage in an era of exponential data growth.

Innovation as the Driving Force of Success
From its founding 15 years ago, Pure Storage has placed innovation at the core of its strategy. The company's investment in research and development (R&D) significantly exceeds the industry average—for example, in 2024, it allocated 19.7% of its revenue to R&D. These investments have resulted in more than 2,500 patents and the development of solutions that help customers maximise the value of their data. One of Pure Storage’s key development centres is located in Prague, which is currently celebrating its fifth anniversary. This centre plays a crucial role in designing new technologies and solutions that are subsequently manufactured at Foxconn’s Pardubice facility.
Foxconn: A Hub of Precision and Security
Production at Foxconn’s Pardubice facility is governed by strict security measures that protect proprietary know-how and ensure the highest manufacturing quality. Employees undergo several weeks of specialised training, and every step of the production process undergoes multiple technological inspections. Additionally, manufacturing takes place in a stable temperature-controlled and virtually dust-free environment. These conditions guarantee the highest quality of devices, which are then shipped from Pardubice to destinations worldwide. The collaboration between Pure Storage and Foxconn in Pardubice is a testament to the Czech Republic’s crucial role on the global IT map.
