Foxconn in Kutná Hora Will Produce Supercomputers. It was announced by Hewlett Packard Enterprise, which cooperates with Foxconn for a long time to supply its products and solutions. The first products are expected to leave the factory this summer.

"We are delighted that Hewlett Packard Enterprise has chosen the Foxconn plant in Kutná Hora," said John Gallagher, Vice President and Executive Director of F Group at Foxconn Czech Republic. "This confirms that Foxconn's Kutná Hora plant is one of the European leaders in its field. The award and investment in this new complex business is recognition of the strong partnership between both companies and the confidence we have in our highly skilled and professional workforce at the Foxconn plant in Kutná Hora to delivery the best experience to our partners. It means more jobs for the Kutná Hora region."

A completely new 2,000-square-metre hall is being built on the premises of the Kutná Hora plant for the demanding production. It is unique because everything needed to produce and test liquid-cooled supercomputers must be here. The facilities for the coolant and the energy requirements posed the greatest challenge for the design of the building and its construction.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is intensively involved in HPC and AI. The European HPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) initiative brings together the EU, European countries and major technology partners to develop supercomputers. For example, in the past, it designed and built the LUMI supercomputer for CSC - IT Center for Science in Finland and the Karolina supercomputer for IT4Innovations in the Czech Republic.

Supercomputers are mainly used in scientific research to solve highly complex problems such as predicting and preparing for extreme weather conditions, diagnosing and treating diseases, or improving food security and sustainability.
